Marc asked about side effects of Novantrone.

Novantrone (or Mitoxantrone) is very similar to adriamycin (it's blue
instead of red). It is an anthracenedione rather than an anthracycline, but it is
chemically very similar. It has all the anthracycline side effects. When it ws
introduced it was said to be less toxic especially in the elderly, but it is
hard to establish this. It cause bone marrow suppression (lasting a little
longer than adriamycin), but a bit less hair loss. It was supposed to cauise
less cardiac damage but the data are not very convincing.

I'm not very convinced, having used both for many years that there is much
to chose between adriamycin and Novantrone.
