Evans syndrome is when you have both
autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) and
immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). AIHA occurs in 15% of cases of CLL and
ITP
occurs in 2% of CLL. A third of cases of ITP also have AIHA. So Evans
syndrome
occurs in 2/3 of 1% of cases of CLL.
