| What is CLL?
Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (also
called CLL) is a blood and bone marrow disease that
often gets worse slowly. CLL is the second most common
type of leukemia in adults. It often occurs during or
after middle age; it occurs rarely in children.

What is the list?
It is non-moderated
discussion list for patients, family, friends,
researchers, and physicians, to discuss clinical and
non-clinical issues and advances pertaining to Chronic
Lymphocytic Leukemia. It includes patient experiences,
psychosocial issues, new research, clinical trials, and
discussions of current treatment practices and
alternatives. The principal focus is expected to be
information and reassurance for patients and carers.
This list is entirely free, and is run completely by
volunteers. |

| What is ACOR?
The CLL list is part of a group of cancer lists
in an organization called ACOR (Association of Cancer Online
Resources). ACOR
offers access to
mailing lists that provide
support, information, and community to everyone affected by
cancer and related disorders. For

Who are List Managers?
The
list managers are members of the list who have volunteered
to help run the list. They have two jobs. The first is to help
members struggling to use the list, for which purpose they have
access to special facilities. The second job is to maintain the
list rules as defined in the list etiquette

| Professors' Posts
There is a volunteer member of the list, Professor Susan Leclair. Professor Terry Hamblin
was member before he retired from practice. Susan Leclair is the Chancellor Professor of Medical
Laboratory Science, Department of Medical Laboratory Science, University of
Massachusetts Dartmouth. Terry Hamblin is the Professor of Immunohaematology at
the University of Southampton, UK and a distinguished CLL specialist. A
selection of their posts to the list,
"Professors' Posts" , sorted by topic may well contain the answer to your query; it will
certainly give you an insight into CLL. |

The CLL Patient Database is a major project collecting information
on CLL patients to assist medical research. You are encouraged to join. |
