| How to use the List? |
|
| POSTING A MESSAGE |
To send a message to the list for everyone to read: Posts should be sent to the address: CLL@listserv.acor.org Subject - Describe your topic. If replying to a previous post, use the subject of the original message. People with digest mode have to re-type the subject line. Message - Details of subject. If replying, quote only enough of the original message for clarification. If replying to the digest please make sure you alter the header. It is essential that you delete all the administrative detail from the original message, failure may lead to your message being rejected. Most email readers allow you to include some or all of the message you are replying to. Your 'Signature' should always include at least your name and email address; so set up your 4 line Signature in a file which is then automatically used. The CLL list works best when plain text is used for posts. Therefore please configure your email client appropriately. Turn off fancy fonts, "smart quotes", and other word processor features. Use hard line breaks that keep your lines shorter than 70-75 characters. Be careful if you prepare your message with a word processor and then paste it into an email client; the email client may interpret your paragraph as a single long line. Microsoft Mail users should turn off RTF. Do try to make the subject line succinct and meaningful. It certainly helps people make selections about which messages to read first. |
